My blog

Hi there, today I’m going to start writing on my blog, adding snippets of information about what I’m doing, upcoming exhibitions etc. Please do ask questions and post comments, I’d love to hear from you.

I’ll start by introducing you to my new assistant, Jasmin.  I’d been looking for a mannequin for ages, to model my garments for photo reference and for exhibitions.  My friend Teena and I went to this amazing little place in Sydney because Teena had wanted a mannequin for the same reasons as I did, and she had discovered this place.  I went to help her load her mannequin into her teeny little car but, as it turned out, it fitted so easily, in bits of course.  As luck would happen, standing at the back of the room with all the other mannequins, was Jasmin, in the pose I had been looking for!   Perfect!  In bits, Jasmin also fitted into Teena’s little car, with lots of room to spare … I think this car should re-named The Tardis !   Jasmin can have a straight honey-blonde bob one day, or black curls the next, depending on her mood or on the garments she’s wearing for the occasion.  So, here is my new assistant, Jasmin, wearing  a hand-painted red and gold silk crepe de chine drapey top, with matching scarf … this is one of the garments I’ve created for my upcoming exhibition at the Danks Street Galleries, Waterloo, in October.

Handpainted red & gold silk top and scarf

Jasmin in handpainted silk crepe-de-chine top with matching scarf. (The scarf can be tied around the head, or around the waist, but wearing her black curly wig I think it looks great tied around her head.)

Cheers

LYNNE
